Targeted Senior Housing Connector/Navigator Program

What problem would you like to solve?

Seniors are facing homelessness as their incomes are decreased and the cost of housing skyrockets. The current affordable housing system relies on seniors being able to navigate online platforms which they do not do. Most of the seniors in the group do not even have email addresses to use for notification when housing lotteries come up. Seniors need help to stay on top of what is available and to apply for much needed senior housing.

Why is it important to solve? Why is it relevant for the community?

Without assisting seniors to navigate housing lotteries they will not be able to age in place and with dignity because they will have no way to manage decision-making and access for themselves.

What idea do you have to address the problem?

Seniors would like a dedicated Senior housing Connector/Navigator to help them find, track, and apply for the right housing options for them.

Who would that help?

It would help seniors seeking to find affordable, seniors-only housing.

What neighborhood would benefit from your idea?

Every neighborhood would be served by this program.
