Citywide Employee Resource Groups Are Needed: A Win-Win for Professional Development, Recruitment, and Burnout Prevention
The COVID pandemic has created unprecedented pressures/strain, social disconnection, and employee burnout everywhere - especially for city workers/1st responders. Employee Resource Groups (ERGs), common in large corporations and in some city agencies, usually form around race, religion, sexual orientation, or veteran status. There is utility/economies of scale to unify ERGs and bring those together with shared goals (i.e, social media pros, video producers, mental health/social workers).
