I think there should be paid maternity/ paternity/care leave separate and above annual and sick time for at least about 1 year for all New York City parents, inclusive of flexible or remote work. Families are stronger when quality childcare is provided ,and when there is extensive bonding with both parents early on. Specifically city employees should be able to access flexible work options to spearhead the effort.
