City Staff Ideas Challenge

Allow NYC office workers to work remotely
COVID-19 showed what a powerful tool teleworking is for the resilience & wellbeing of NYC. Through it, NY continued working and providing services to our customers and stakeholders while strengthening local communities.
My proposal is to allow City office workers to telework three days a week.
Telework creates a workforce that allows NYC to meet any challenge. It is good for work-life balance & mental health, and reduces congestion on crowded subways.

I would like the Mayor to consider having the mature workforce (those 60 and older) or those with conditions that make it difficult to commute and who successfully worked remotely during the pandemic to continue tele-working indefinitely. The majority of us have been able to instruct the new employees remotely and satisfy the daily tasks needed by the agencies. There is a knowledge base that is easily shared through Team meetings and chats give the new employees a support system to continue the operation of the agency.
