Free Tutoring and Test Prep for Students and Families
- What is your idea?
- A free program that gives students in underserved Brooklyn communities tutoring from trained student tutors, SHSAT and SAT prep, and workshops for parents. The workshops help families understand and get IEP, 504, and SETSS services for their children. Sessions would run after school and on weekends in community spaces and online.
- What problem is your idea trying to solve?
- Many families cannot afford private tutoring or test prep. Many also struggle to get special education services for their children because the process is hard to understand. Students fall behind and miss chances at specialized high schools and college. This program gives them free support and guidance.
