The number of New Yorkers and pets who are prescribed injectables is a rapidly increasing number. 311 says that used needlesticks can be disposed at any hospital or nursing home in NYS. This is not exactly enforced and not being done. New Yorkers toss used needlesticks into the trash. Do you know have many New Yorkers (esp. city workers) get jabbed by a poorly-discarded used needle in trash bags, park grounds, or the streets? Too many. Let's #StickUp4NY for Safe Needlestick Disposal.

Promptly disposing of used needles in appropriate sharps disposal containers is one way you can help prevent needlestick injuries. Healthcare personnel who use or may be exposed to needles are at increased risk of needlestick injury. PointClickCare CNA
