At Bellevue Program for Survivors of Torture we have proven the impact that legal support for immigrants has on their overall health. HHC does have legal services for immigrants, but they are ad hoc and not a systematic part of client care. I envision a new system through partnerships that incorporates immigrants' legal & social factors into overall health - serving as a model for health care for cities in the US.

It is a good idea - I keep seeing immigration issues resulting in poor mental and physical outcomes for our clients. Acknowledging that legal instability is a health issue, and addressing the problem systematically is a VERY GOOD idea.
