Increase Staffing for City Workers
With the great resignation many people have left the city task force, but the work has not changed. Significant institutional knowledge and expertise has been lost, and many more employees may be also looking to leave due to increase workloads with no relief in sight. If staffing is to remain the same, streamlining work will be needed, otherwise staff will burn out, which can impact response times, morale, customer service, etc. There are many other ways to identify cost savings.

I could think of 2 huge reasons for the current staffing issues: 1) receiving very low pay compared to the private sector and 2) no option for remotely working from home. Even implementing a hybrid office schedule is better than working 5 days/week. The city should consider giving pay raises more often and allow city workers to have flexibility by remotely working from home.
