How to reduce waste
NYC has huge amounts of garbage every day. We should consider how to reduce it. We have been using reusable grocery bags to reduce plastics. We can do more: for example, using reusable coffee cups (bring it from your home), using your own bento box at salad bar, saving a detergent bottle to refill.

Possible waste disposal methods are recycling, composting, incineration, landfills, bioremediation, waste to energy, and waste minimization. As for waste management, it is the measures utilized to manage waste in its entire life cycle, from waste generation to disposal or recovery.

Reducing waste is an important step in protecting the environment and preserving natural resources. Here are a few strategies you can use to reduce waste:
Reduce, Reuse, Recycle: The 3 R's are a great starting point for reducing waste. Reduce the amount of waste you produce by purchasing products with minimal packaging, using reusable bags and containers, and avoiding disposable products. Reuse items that can be used again, such as glass jars, and recycle items that can be repurposed, like paper, plastic and metal.
Composting: Composting is a great way to reduce food waste and create a nutrient-rich soil amendment. You can compost food scraps, yard waste, and even paper products to reduce the amount of waste that ends up in landfills.

NYC has expanded its composting program in recent years. You can participate by composting your food scraps, yard waste, and other organic materials. This reduces the amount of waste sent to landfills and can be used to enrich soil. https://www.followmy-health.com/
