Flexible work options for working families, Consider being forward thinking NYC
A flexible/hybrid work schedules for working families beginning with city employees will provide some needed relief for families esp. those with young children or who care for an ill family member. I had to take years of leave from city employment- my mthly paycheck didn't allow me to afford childcare. Taking time off to be present for children is looked at NEGATIVELY by employers. As a former CPS, I saw how working families were penalized.

Since the pandemic employers have changed their mindset regarding working from home. Most employers offer telecommuting as a work option. The City should consider working from home possibilities for its employees or it will not be able to attract and retain a good workforce in the coming years. Employees need a work life balance as is evident from the pandemic.
