Non-residents have to pay city taxes?
Why do NYC employees that are non-residents have to file an 1127 form and pay NYC taxes (at a reduced rate) when any other non-NYC residents of any other entity - company or otherwise - in NYC do not pay city taxes? This is not fair to NYC employees that are non-residents!
Why is this information not applicable to NYC employees that live in NJ?

To note - this doesn't apply to ALL non-residents, why? Where is the equity?
"Section 1127 of the New York City Charter does not apply to you if you work for the Department of Education, City University of New York, District Attorneys Offices, or New York City Housing Authority. Also, it does not apply if you are a NYC Housing Authority or Transit Police transferred into the New York Police Department."
This is so, so unfair... I could not afford to buy a house in NYC because the taxes were to high... we got a rule passed that said we could move out of the City but still work for the City... but having to pay taxes for services I don't use is so unfair. The State helped us and the City punished us!
I appreciate the efforts you people put in to share blogs on such kind of topics, it was indeed helpful. Keep Posting!
