Create a Program that provides city exams (NYPD / FDNY / DSNY etc.) to high school students
PROVIDE CITY EXAMS IN HIGH SCHOOL: Create a class that prepares high school students for upcoming city exams. These exams should be held during the school day and paid for by the city. This will help with equity to ensure that everyone has equal access to test. 1) The tests will be provided for free, 2) transportation to the test will not be an issue because it will be held in school. This idea will help diversify the workforce and increase opportunities for all.

I agree its time for the city to prepare students for non-degree civil service exams and I will add give them college credits for the training as well as more community resources in schools especially for the homeless students. I feel
the Department of Education should have more sponsors for example Google would be a great partner because they have a certification program for there IT jobs.
This is a wonderful plan and should be combined with the other programs suggested.
This program can be combined with the "Excused time to mentor children after-school" program. Student can be given a day or after school to train and interact with a mentor in the field they are interested in. This can include test prep and training.
