Better access to greenmarkets in the outer boroughs
There is a discrpancy in access to farmers markets between Manhattan and outer boroughs. There should be more city run greenmarkets that give residents access to fresh food. This would encourage people to eat more fruits/vegetables, walk more if the market was near their home, and promote local businesses. Or the city should at least subsidized smaller run farmers markets to provide funding and incentives for farms and local businesses to sell their products there.

I am very passionate about this topic and concern as NYC is over populated.
I think healthy food is fundamental necessity to help low income and middle class afford healthy eating so they can maintain good health.
The Bronx have a thriving program where the locals come together to grow food locally. Why can't Brooklyn have that opportunity? There is the Belt parkway as a project to plant apple trees, pears, cherries and berries. Parks should have fruit trees for children to pick fruits and berries while they play. Have a gardening project in the parks and grow food. Something for children to participate in with their parents. Too many buildings are over priced and pick up a lot of space where an acre or so can be utilized for planting organic vegetables, fruits and berries. We need buildings for yoga, meditations that are actually affordable and accessible. We need to encourage massage therapy and wholistic healers for poor and middle class to afford destressing.
