Make Recycling E-waste More Accessible
We create an enormous amount of E-waste that is ending up in landfills. Old phones, computers, batteries, etc. are all being discarded in the regular trash because the more acceptable waste streams are inaccessible to most New Yorkers. I propose that along with paper, metal, glass, and plastic recycling, the City should work to make e-waste and other forms of hazardous waste disposal more accessible with either pickup and/or local drop sites that are walkable for all new yorkers

Excellent idea! This will become even more needed as the city's buildings become more electrified and connected. We should add compost to this list as well.
Such a wonderful idea! Even if the City implements this once a month it would be such a great thing for the environment. I personally know of many who save their old phones and used batteries to dispose of them in the very few places that accept them (some homedepot have 'Call2Recycle' bins) but end up throwing them in the garbage. Recycling, Upcycling, composting and any sustainable activity that protects our environment should be encouraged not made difficult to achieve.
Great idea. Include a full on education / outreach campaign with this as well. And make Apple, Google, Best Buy, etc. participation a cost of doing business in the city.
I appreciate the efforts you people put in to share blogs on such kind of topics, it was indeed helpful. Keep Posting!
