Digital Inclusion
NYC has committed resources to building the broadband infrastructure and bringing low-cost internet services to areas neglected and underserved. The City must go beyond, and consider a laptop lending program in schools, providing technology classes for both students and parents in an effort to close the digital divide and promote digital literacy and inclusion. The pandemic has highlighted an existing issue where both students and parents were unable to “connect” in a digital world.
