Work Life Balance
Allow one parent with a newborn to work from home until the child is three and able to attend pre-k. This will allow the parent to continue their income stream, maintain work skills, allow for better bonding and a stable work-life balance. If you don't have a free or an affordable caregiver, you have to use your time, take extended leave or return to work; but using a lot of your check to pay for someone else to raise your child. Most homes can't survive on one paycheck.

Allow parent to telework at least part time for parents who do not have school age children
I would love the opportunity to telework (full time or partial) whether one has children or not; but I don't see City employees being allowed to telework gain any traction. And definitely not after coming out of a shut down.
