Reduce Noise from Sirens
NYC is the noisiest city in this country. Sound pollution has been a problem for too long. Quiet hours for all vehicles (emergency, police, fire fighters, civilians) should at Least be reduced if not minimized 10pm and 7am. Children and parents need to sleep in order to be our best selves. For our selves, our family, our city.

Yes, some people still open their music and talk very loud after 12:00 mid-night. I believe educate people caring others is very important.
The best way to reduce the noise from sirens is to reduce driving over all, which means emergency vehicles won't be stuck in traffic. And you do that with congestion pricing, and actually enforcing the parking laws, which encourages people to take public transit instead of driving.
Using smart technologies to control lights and have connected alerts in cars or at intersections that are audible to indicate approaching emergency vehicles could allow better flow and less range of loud sirens.
