Childcare Assistance
NYC Employees should receive a child care grant to assist with high child care costs in NYC. Work sites with a high demand should also have an onsite child care facility. This would help reduce calling out of work due to child care issues. Parents of young children would also have safe and reliable child care near work to be able to go to work and also stay at work late if needed.

I whole hearted believe in this idea. As a new mom working for the city, I am paying out of pocket 13K in child care this year. It is appalling because it impedes on my family being able to save money so that we can move into a bigger home as our child grows. There needs to be an assistance program or discount for city workers like low income families who are able to have reduced cost childcare if they are eligible.
