Collect Used Cooking Oil from Residents
The City requires that used cooking oil (UCO) be collected from restaurants by licensed haulers. But very little is done to prevent residents from pouring their UCO down the drain (i.e. brochures). I propose that the City assemble containers (located where sewer backups are a problem) where residents can dispose of their UCO. The collected UCO, can then be sold to recycle companies that upcycle UCO into biodiesel or soap. Residents who donate their UCO receive monetary incentives.
