SAfe Pedestrian/Bike Crossings
Description:
Be as specific as possible and include quantities when applicable (e.g. 5 security cameras, 10 laptop carts).
Many bike lanes were installed with mixing zones designs at intersections . Since then DOT studies found that Split phase signals and offset crossings designs make pedestrians and bike crossing much safer . This project would replace the old mixing zones with the new safer design on ten intersections
9th Avenue and W 58th , W30th , W 36th ,W 56th and ,W 46th Street
6th Avenue and W 25th Street,
8th Avenue and W25th, W 51st, W 53rd,W 55th and W 45th Street

This project would serve the thousands of residents, families, seniors , commuters and persons wiht disabilities who use walk and bike along these corridors every day
